Art Alive is involved in both outreach and resettlement work with the inmates of Wandsworth and Wormwood Scrubs prisons. We work closely with prison education departments to deliver art projects within establishments.

Our hands-on approach allows us to get to know the prisoners on a personal level and gain a clear understanding of their support needs. When someone has a real interest in developing their artistic skills when their sentence ends we will meet them at the gates - a familiar face to help them through a very vulnerable period.

Art Alive becomes part of an ex-prisoner’s social network and acts as a bridge from the inside to the outside. We can assist with the resettlement process by ensuring that their housing and other needs are adequately dealt with.
